Instructions & Deadlines for
Submitting Your Routine Music Files
Deadlines for Submission:
- Just Believe – Monday, 2nd February 2026, 5pm
- Stand Strong – Monday, 9th February 2026, 5pm
- Dream Extreme / Alpha & Omega – Monday, 9th March 2026, 5pm
- Live Your Legacy – Monday, 1st June 2026, 5pm
To submit your routine music ahead of the event to Legacy please follow ALL these instructions:
- Ensure each music file is in MP3 or M4A format and is named as below:
‘ProgrammeName-TeamName-Division'.
You may use shorthand to keep the filename succinct as long as it is clear which routine it relates to.
(e.g ‘BeautifulC&D-Purple-OpenCoedSmall4NT.mp3'). - Complete the form below, including uploading your files, and click 'Submit'.
(Max 20 files per form – if you need to submit more files, please complete a second form). - You should see a confirmation appear on screen after submission. You will also be sent an automated email to confirm the submission has been received. If you do not get this within an hour, please try again or contact [email protected] for assistance. Please DO NOT send music files directly to the hello@ email address.
- IMPORTANT: Ensure that you still bring backup copies of all your music to the event, on a device that you can play from if need be. Digital anomalies and human errors can happen, so do not 100% rely on the digital upload system to be a failsafe.
- Submissions received after the deadlines above will NOT be accepted.
Music files MAY NOT be uploaded ‘on the day’ - your only option if you have not sent by the deadline above is to play via your own device at the event (see policies below). - IF YOU ARE ATTENDING MULTIPLE EVENTS – Please complete a SEPERATE FORM PER EVENT, even if you are using the same music file. For privacy, security and practical reasons, tracks provided will only be used for the 1 event for which they are submitted.
Legacy Music Playback Policy
NOTE: We cannot play music from a USB stick or CD/DVD/Disc.
All performance music must be uploaded via the form above by the stated deadline, or it must be provided on the day by a team representative on their own MP3/mobile phone device for playback on the event provided sound system.
One (1) representative of your group will be responsible for the music during the competition routine.
This representative MUST be able to recognise and confirm the correct music file for your performance and, if using own device, know how to use that device without assistance.
- Digitally uploaded file: The music representative must first speak to the DJ and follow instructions to review and confirm the queued music file. This should be done during the performance PRIOR to their own team.
After confirmation, they may move to the front of the mat but must remain within line-of-sight to the DJ in order to give a visual signal when to begin playback. - Own device for playback: The music representative must remain at the sound desk throughout the entire performance. This person will be responsible for pressing 'play' on their device at the appropriate time.
Music should be cued and ready to ‘plug & play’.
Device may be placed on the sound desk table during performance only.
In the event a routine is delayed due to operator error, timing of your routine will continue.
Devices must be able to be plugged into a standard headphone jack cable and if applicable, you must provide your own adapter. It is your responsibility to ensure they are all in working order prior to approaching the sound desk. Cases/Covers may need to be removed from the device in order to plug into the cable.
iPod/MP3 players/mobile phones/tablets/laptops ONLY! No iPod Shuffles are allowed. No tapes, USB sticks, or CD/DVDs are allowed.
Music must be recorded at the correct tempo with a high-quality file. Speed control is not available.
We recommend having the music available on at least TWO devices present at the event.
IF PLAYING MUSIC ON A MOBILE PHONE, PUT PHONE ON AIRPLANE MODE, TURN OFF ALL ALARMS, AND DO NOT HOLD THE DEVICE IN HAND WHILE IT PLAYS. This prevents the vast majority of music failures mid-routine.
Legacy Cheer and Dance will not allow a team to restart/re-run their routine in the event of music interruption caused by a mobile phone device.
No additional team members, coaches, parents, etc are allowed at the music desk.
No food or drink is permitted near the sound desk area.
