Registering for Events

Live Your Legacy
Registration for our events is via a system called RegChamp.
- You can access the Legacy RegChamp system, HERE.
- Find videos and Helpful Tips on how to carry out the most common functions on RegChamp HERE.
- We highly recommend you build your rosters and teams with coaches assigned to each team EARLY, even before events are open. (See our New Season Setup Guide for guidance). This will allow you extra time to verify your data and be ready to assign teams to an event as soon as it opens.
-
If your teams are still TBC at the time of event opening and you want to hold a place for your programme, you may prefer to use our Express Registration option – click HERE for the policies and details regarding that option.
- Once teams have been assigned to an event, this is considered an ENTRY INTENT and becomes immediately chargeable. If you accidentally enter data into an open competition, or you change your mind and are no longer intending to attend an event, you should delete the teams from that event PRIOR TO THE EARLY ENTRY DEADLINE. Any data remaining in the RegChamp system after the Early Deadline is chargeable and may not be voided via withdrawal.
As soon as teams have been assigned to an event in RegChamp, this is considered an ENTRY INTENT and becomes immediately chargeable. Data entered accidentally, or when teams are no longer intending to attend that event, MUST BE DELETED FROM THE REGCHAMP ENTRY PRIOR TO THE EARLY ENTRY DEADLINE.
If you are having technical issues or need any assistance to do this, please email [email protected] for assistance PRIOR TO THE DEADLINE so we can assist you. Requests to revert entry fees based on "technical" questions or RegChamp questions are not valid after a deadline.
Once we hit the Early Registration Deadline, all teams registered to an event at that time are considered a COMMITTED ENTRY. Programmes choosing to withdraw their entry after the Early Deadline but prior to the On-Time deadline may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, but will not be eligible for a full refund.
ANY TEAMS OPTING TO WITHDRAW AFTER THE ON-TIME DEADLINE REMAIN LIABLE TO PAY THEIR INVOICE IN FULL. Programmes wanting to withdraw team(s) after the On-Time Deadline may withdraw/scratch their teams but will not be eligible for any credit or refund (and unpaid invoices remain payable).
RegChamp is locked after the On-Time deadline and teams cannot be removed without contacting Legacy via email to request they be scratched.
Legacy will offer all divisions as listed in the SportCheer UK Age Grid for the current season, at all events, with the following exceptions:
- Stunt Group divisions will be offered as a virtual competition (meaning competition is via video upload) at every event as a guaranteed option. For the 2026 season we are NOT intending to offer a live performance option for Stunt Group divisions at ANY Legacy events, though it remains within the discretion of the Legacy Directors to decide to allow virtual entries to upgrade to live if it is deemed feasible to be able to do so.
- We will not be offering Individual divisions at any events in 2026.
- For the Dream Extreme and Alpha & Omega events, which are run concurrently, University divisions will be at Alpha & Omega only, and all other divisions will be at Dream Extreme. (Universities are also eligible to compete at any other Legacy event through the season).
More details of Virtual Divisions and how they work is available HERE.
All athletes/teams to be entered must meet all the requirements as per the SportCheer UK Age Grid for the current season, including meeting the SCUK Crossover Policy requirements.
Legacy allows* teams to perform as an ‘Exhibition’ performance, where their rostered team doesn’t meet the requirements of the SCUK Age Grid, or they simply wish not to compete.
*Note that Legacy has limited slots for Exhibition performances and so any Exhibition registrations are accepted at the discretion of the Legacy Directors.
The fees for teams registering as ‘Exhibition’ are as follows:
- Cheerabilities teams with a majority of SEN athletes who do not wish to compete:
- Free of charge (fees apply for those who do wish to compete).
- These teams will not receive a scoresheet, but Legacy will present a participation award (e.g. banner or individual athlete ribbons or medals) to them immediately following their performance.
- These teams are also eligible to receive free carer access tickets, up to 1 per SEN athlete – the head coach/team contact should email [email protected] to request this NO LATER THAN 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVENT.
- ICU Worlds National Representative teams (i.e. those attending the ICU World Championships in the current season to represent their nation):
- Free of charge.
- These teams will not receive a full scoresheet but may get judges’ comments/feedback if they request this in advance.
- They will not be issued any award.
- This opportunity is limited to teams named for their country who specifically compete at ICU World Championships only.
- Any other exhibition performance, for any reason:
- Charged at regular entry rates for the event.
- These teams will receive a full scoresheet based on the closest/most equivalent SCUK division.
- They will be presented a participation banner at one of the awards ceremonies.
Legacy allows coaches for competing programmes to attend the event free of charge, at the following ratio:
- 1 Coach per 12 athletes.
Any coaches exceeding this ratio are welcome to attend but will incur a fee. See the specific Event page for details of the fee payable.
Coaches must be registered to a competing team in order to be included on the Coach Badge list for each competition.
This is different than just listing them in your 'Staff' section in RegChamp. Instructions on how to add coaches, and see who you have 'on the list' for any specific event can be found HERE. Follow these steps to ensure your coaches have the credentials they need when you arrive.
Linking a coach with an email address to a specific team also means that coach will receive that teams scoresheets via email on competition day. Each Coach should also have Greenlight Verification, so please see the section below as well.
Note re Junior Coaches:
Junior Coaches who are also competing athletes at the same event should NOT be registered as Coaches within the RegChamp system. They will be able to gain access to the Warm Up area using their athlete wristband and do NOT need to be issued coaches credentials. They also do not count against your ratio.
If a junior coach is attending an event where they are NOT also competing as an athlete, then they DO need to be registered as a coach via RegChamp so they can get an entry credential. In this case, they will count towards your ratio and may be subject to fees accordingly. They do not need Greenlight Approval, so please state in the 'Notes' field for these coaches that they are Juniors.
Note re University Coaches:
University coaches who are also competing athletes at that event do not need to register as a coach in RegChamp because they will have all-access with their athlete band and do not need a coach credential. University Coaches do NOT require Greenlight verification and do not need to upload any documentation or otherwise inform us – we will assume if you are registered in a University division, that you are a University programme! You can upload a photo of each coach if you would like to.
Greenlight is our system to promote safeguarding within the sport of Cheerleading and Dance. It is Legacy’s expectation that all gyms and programmes are already obtaining the relevant documentation within their own staff and leadership, in the interest of child protection, all year round.
In order to access any ‘Athlete & Coach only areas’ at events, coaches must wear on display at all times a valid Coaches Credential for that event, in addition to wearing their coaches wristband. A new credential will be issued for each Legacy event, and coaches are checked by Warm Up staff by name and ID photo, therefore credentials may not be passed amongst others.
Every individual coach aged 16+ (excluding junior coaches or those working with adult athletes only) should submit a valid DBS and ID photo, in order to achieve GreenLight Approved status.
THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTATION FOR GREENLIGHT IS AROUND 30 DAYS PRIOR TO EACH EVENT. (Check the relevant Coach Info Page for the exact deadline date – links to these pages are in RegChamp)
Coaches credentials will feature a sticker coloured to indicate their current Greenlight Approval status.
Full details on which documents are acceptable and instructions how to upload background check documents and ID photos can be found on our Greenlight for Coaches webpage. You can also find instructions here on how to link coaches to an event (as they will not be reviewed for Greenlight otherwise) and what to do for Junior/University coaches who are not eligible for Greenlight Approval.
Prior to the On-Time Registration Deadline, the RegChamp system will remain 'open' so that you can make your own amendments, including amending team rosters, divisions, adding coaches, etc.
Once the On-Time Deadline has passed, that event will 'lock' and you will no longer be able to make additions or amendments to your entry. This is because once the deadline has passed, we will be working on division splits, building schedules, confirming coaches Greenlight and so on, so we need to be aware of all changes happening which could affect those elements.
There will be a window of time, usually after release of the first preliminary schedule, during which RegChamp will be ‘re-opened’ for you to make any amendments required – please see your Coaches Info Page for that event to check when this will be (links to the Coaches Info Pages are available in RegChamp) and look out for emails with specific instructions in this regard.
Usually after this time a second preliminary schedule will be released, and then from that time onward, any further changes required will need to be submitted via a Change Request Form.
CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO SUBMIT A CHANGE REQUEST FORM.
We ask that coaches please submit ALL change requests – including roster changes, division changes, coach changes, schedule changes – via a change request form and NOT via email. Our inbox gets very busy and we can easily miss important requests in there. It is much easier for us (and you!) to track changes via the RegChamp system.
CHANGE FEES & OTHER IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE:
- Any new teams added to an existing entry after a Registration Deadline has passed are subject to fees at the next pricing tier; e.g. adding a team to an entry charged at Early Rate, that team will be charged at On-Time Rate. Adding a team after the On-Time deadline, if event capacity allows that team will be charged at Late Fee Rate.
- Division changes may be subject to fees.
- No fee applies for division changes made prior to the On-Time Deadline.
- No fee applies where a roster is amended and this results in a forced change, e.g. going from 16 to 15 athletes so moving from standard to small division, or replacing a female athlete with a male athlete and so moving to a co-ed division, or replacing someone with an older athlete moving a team up an age bracket.
- Division changes for any other reason, including accidental errors at time of initial registration, are chargeable. Changes prior to release of the Final Schedule Version 1 incur a £45 fee. Changes after release of the Final Schedule Version 1 incur a £75 fee.
- Fees can be avoided by double checking your event entry (divisions are listed clearly on the invoice) to ensure it is correct, in advance of the On-Time Deadline.
- Teams whose divisions are changed will, in most cases, be moved on the schedule to be performing amongst the other teams in their new division. Programmes should be prepared for this as it could make a significant difference to performance time and thus their travel and accommodation plans.
- Any amendments that result in your entry numbers reducing below that which has already been paid are not eligible for any refund or credit.
- If you wish to remove an athlete from competition but still utilise their athlete entry band for which you have paid, you should mark them as an ‘Alternate’, rather than delete them from the team, so that you will be still issued their wristband. Be aware that Alternate athletes are chargeable, so if you add new athletes as well as retain existing athletes as ‘Alternates’, you will be charged entry fees for both.
- Upon release of the Final Schedule Version 1, we will ‘lock’ the divisions for that event. This means:
- Any roster changes after this time that affect the team’s division, (e.g. removing an athlete taking a team of 16 to 15, which would normally move them to a 'small' division), may not result in a division amendment. We will review the circumstances, and if the division can be amended without affecting the schedule/timings significantly, then we will do so, but otherwise the team will remain in their originally entered division, despite the lower athlete numbers..
- If the change results in the team becoming illegal for their original division, for example adding a male when entered in an all-girl division, adding an athlete that is in a different age bracket, adding an athlete which takes the team to a larger size than their current division allows – in these circumstances Legacy will try to move the teams division, if possible, within the existing schedule, but if this is not possible the team will be moved to an ‘Exhibition Performance’ only and will not be eligible to receive a ranking award.
- For last-minute changes, i.e. within 72 hours of event start, coaches should inform Legacy Warm Up Staff, on arrival to Warm Up Check-In, of the details of the change, so that division eligibility can be confirmed. Increase in roster numbers beyond what is registered (i.e. if you registered 19 but arrive to warmup with 20) are chargeable at the Late fee rate for First Entry per athlete (even if the extra ahlete(s) are crossovers), and this fee will be due immediately at warm up in order to be eligible to compete. If the additional athlete(s) makes the team illegal for their current division (e.g. they are in a ‘Small’ division but now have 16 athletes) the athlete fee is still chargeable AND the team will be moved to an ‘Exhibition Performance’ only and will not be eligible to receive a ranking award.
- Last-minute replacement/swaps of athletes is limited to 3 performers maximum. Any number that exceeds 3 will also result in the team performing as ‘Exhibition’ only.
- Note that if a team is moved to ‘Exhibition’, either by their own choice or because Legacy has deemed their team roster is no longer eligible for the entered division, then the team will not receive a ranking but will still receive a scoresheet (for the originally entered division) and will be awarded a participation banner at their awards ceremony. The Programme/Gym will NOT be eligible for any refund or credit of any fees paid.
Payments, Waitlists, Deadlines & Discounts
To see the deadline dates for each Event, please visit the relevant Event Page.
If you have any questions about your invoice, please email us ([email protected]) as early as possible, to avoid potentially missing deadlines, and we will be happy to assist you.
Deadlines are FIRM. Full payment prior to the deadline is the only way to ensure the published early fee rate.
RegChamp automatically increases fees on the ENTIRE entry on accounts with ANY unpaid balance on the deadline.
To earn Early Rates: Payment must be RECEIVED into the Legacy bank account on or before the Early Deadline date for the event.
If your bank delays processing of the payment and it does not appear in the Legacy bank account until after midnight on the Deadline date, then that entry is NOT considered ‘Early’ and will be subject to On-Time fee rates. Emailing us screenshots of your payment are not acceptable as proof of payment - confirmation is only made by receipt of funds in the Legacy account. For this reason, please make sure you process transactions in good time ahead of the deadline.
Note that BACS payments are manually updated in the RegChamp system, so please allow up to 1 week following payment for this to be updated in your account – provided the payment landed in the Legacy bank account prior to the deadline, the Early rate will apply, even if we don’t manage to update the system until a week afterwards.
Legacy events sell out and may go to waitlist prior to posted deadlines. Deposits are no longer required or valid to “hold” a spot.
- If Waitlist is Triggered Prior to the On-Time deadline and you have an unpaid or partial paid entry in RegChamp:
If you are working on an entry in RegChamp, it will NOT be removed prior to the On-Time deadline while the waitlist builds, regardless of payment status. However...
Entries that are less than 50% paid at the On-Time deadline will be automatically removed from RegChamp the day after the deadline in order to make room for the teams on waitlist. This is to prevent teams from "holding" spaces and then failing to attend later at the expense of other teams who desperately wanted to attend. We want to accommodate as many waitlist teams as possible, so this is the only way to ensure that. Partial payments no longer hold a spot for an entry after the deadline.
So, the only way to keep your entry in the system when the deadline is hit (if Waitlist applies), is to pay in full.
If your entry is removed after the On-Time Deadline due to less than 50% payment, we will hold credit in such case of what was paid, but the credit is applicable only to the same event, without exception, and without guarantee of entry from the waitlist.
Without exception, cash refunds are not an option in this case.
This scenario is completely avoidable with proper planning and this notice prior to the season opening.
If Waitlist is Triggered Prior to the On-Time deadline and you haven't yet submitted any entry:
Waitlist may trigger at anytime between registration opening and the deadline as registrations approach the maximum performance minutes available in a day. If this happens, don't panic. We will always do our best to get you in, but you must do ALL of the following to maximise your chances:
- Click the "Waitlist" button on RegChamp for the event (and have all your teams/rosters set up and ready for entry in the system).
- We will contact you via your RegChamp email to ask you about the divisions you wish to enter. Make sure you reply to this email with ALL the requested information. You can also proactively email us at [email protected] to tell us what teams and divisions you wish to enter.
- If your waitlist entry is accepted into an event, we will email to let you know and you will have 48 hours to make payment in full. We will honour the EARLY entry fee rate IF you completed step 1 prior to the Early Deadline. If payment is not cleared within the 48 hours of notice of acceptance, the entry will either revert to the On-Time fee rate, or be removed entirely.
After the On-Time deadline has passed:
If a programme is removed for less than 50% payment on the On-Time deadline and requests to be re-added later, they will need to follow the waitlist steps 1-3 above and there is no guarantee of room. Said programme can no longer obtain early pricing even if they are able to be accomodated. Additional admin fees may also apply.
If they are granted entry to the event, their credit of what was previously paid will be applied and then the remaining balance of the invoice (at On-Time rates) will be due within 48 hours, as above. Non-payment within that 48 hour window means the entire entry will either jump to Late Fee Rate, or will be removed entirely.
Any programmes who did not have any entry in the system, or had not clicked 'Waitlist', prior to the On-Time Deadline may still follow the steps 1-3 above to request entry and will remain on waitlist until if/when capacity becomes available.
Legacy Cheer & Dance Ltd offers two generous discount programmes: Frequent Flyer and Welcome Discount.
The eligibility and full details for these can be found on the following web page:
Payment is preferred via BACS transfer. Bank details are included at the bottom of the Invoice generated by the RegChamp system. They are also here for your information:
Bank: NatWest
Name: Legacy Cheer and Dance Ltd
Account Number: 31295525
Sort Code: 56-00-46
Reference: Please include your Gym Name and Event name as reference, where possible.
Payment can also be made via Paypal or Credit Card upon written request, however these transactions incur an additional fee of 3% of the invoice total.
Schools & Universities paying via their Funding Office: Your funding method may take longer for approval, so please email us WELL IN ADVANCE of the payment deadline to let us know you are paying via this method, and provide a contact for your Funding Office, so we can support the process and help you to avoid late payment fees with advanced approval.
Although unlikely, it is possible that an event could be cancelled or postponed due to acts of nature, circumstances beyond our control, government mandates, pandemic, or other emergency. In such cases, our first efforts will be to make adjustments to maintain the event date and location. If that is not possible, the secondary effort will be to either offer the same event on a virtual basis, at a reasonable alternate location, or to re-schedule the event for a later date in the season. A last resort would be to cancel the event and not re-schedule it. Varying options may apply, so watch your event correspondence for details in such a circumstance.
In the event that an event is rescheduled or relocated, it will be the Programme/Gyms responsibility to adjust so they can attend accordingly.
Across the board, the following will always apply without variation:
Inclement Weather
If the venue is open, the competition is open. Legacy Cheer and Dance cannot and will not issue refunds for those who do not attend when the venue has deemed it safe and reasonable to be open. Cases of extreme travel conditions may be handled on a case-by-case basis for credit or transfer, but are not likely and are not guaranteed – this applies to the full programme only, not individual athletes or spectators.
Force Majeure
Legacy Cheer and Dance will not be liable for any delay in performing, or failure to perform, its obligations under your agreement to compete or spectate where such failure or delay arises as a direct result of a Force Majeure Event, including but not limited to COVID-19 or any other pandemic as declared by the WHO (World Health Organization), political unrest, local mandates, security concerns, or inclement weather.
In the unlikely event that Legacy Cheer and Dance cancels an event and it is not rescheduled in any format during the season:
- Individual spectators and group spectator orders will automatically receive a refund within 30 days of the planned event date. Processing fees may apply.
- Event Registration fees will automatically be credited to Programmes. Programme accounts in RegChamp will be frozen, without recourse, however credits will remain and no funds will be lost. Credits can be applied to any event going forward and do not expire at the end of the season. Note that our event registration fee transactions are with Programmes/Gyms, not individual athletes/families, so there are no credits or refunds specific to an individual.
- Other costs related to the event such as travel, hotels, etc. are not included within the realm of compensation options and must be managed directly with the individual vendors or persons related to those transactions.
For clarity, if an event is offered in alternative format, including alternative dates in the same season or other reasonable venue, refunds are not an option for entry fees or spectator fees.
A note on our Customer Relationship - Please be aware that Legacy Cheer and Dance Limited’s contractual business-to-customer relationship is with the entity paying for the product/service. With regards to competition entries, that relationship is with the Programme/Gym and not with any individual athlete or parent. With regards to spectator tickets, where a group ticket purchase has been made, that relationship is also with the Programme/Gym and not with the individual spectator. Legacy Cheer and Dance cannot, therefore, enter into any negotiations regarding fees, discounts, credits or refunds from anyone other than the Programme/Gym representative with whom we have a business contract. Likewise, any credits issued will be appointed to the organisation who made the initial purchase and not to any individual athlete or parent. Individuals/Parents wanting to discuss fees/discounts/credits/refunds (with the exception of spectators who purchased individual tickets directly from the Legacy Cheer and Dance web store/in person at an event) should approach their Programme/Gym representative directly and not Legacy Cheer and Dance.
Wristbands & Spectator Tickets
Pre-Check Status:
Your team can skip the Box Office check-in to greatly ease your event arrival by meeting the requirements for Legacy Pre-Check Status in advance of the event. That means you have:
- A zero balance in RegChamp.
- All coaches have been Greenlit.
- If you placed a group spectator order, this balance must also be paid in full to meet Pre-Check Status. This may/may not apply to you.
Wristband Postage:
Provided your registration invoice is paid up in full, Legacy will, by default, post your wristbands to you for free, around 2 weeks in advance of the event. This package will include your athlete wristbands, coaches wristbands and credential lanyards, and if applicable, any spectator wristbands from a GROUP order you have placed. Everything will be sent together in one batch.
Postage will be to the address provided when you first registered for the event. You can check what this is on your Invoice via RegChamp.
If you DO NOT want your wristbands posted, OR YOUR ADDRESS HAS CHANGED you MUST email us ahead of time to notify us.
Legacy will not be held responsible for packages that are sent to an incorrectly provided address. Wristbands must be treated like cash and lost wristbands will need to be re-purchased (at full price) at Box Office at the event, no exceptions. Please make sure your athletes and spectators are aware of their responsibility to keep track of their wristband once it is in their possession.
Note that Legacy never posts individual spectator orders made via our store. These must be collected on the day at the event, via scanning the code the purchaser will receive via email.
Early Check In Option:
If you have not met pre-check criteria and therefore need to collect your programme pack in-person at the event, you may like to make use of our Early Check In option. We open Box Office at the event venue between 3pm and 4pm on the Friday before the event. No prior notification is required – just turn up during this window and you can collect your programme pack. Note: we may ask for ID to prove you are one of the registered coaches affiliated with the programme.
Spectator tickets (both group and individual orders) will open for sale for each 2026 event on the following dates:
- Just Believe: 18th November 2025
- Stand Strong: 25th November 2025
- Dream Extreme and Alpha & Omega: 16th December 2025
- Live Your Legacy: 6th March 2026
Group spectator ticket orders may be placed by one authorised programme coach/admin only. One order per gym only, so plan accordingly. Group orders may NOT be edited once they have been placed.
If you are looking for individual spectator tickets, use the ‘Shop’ menu on our website and select ‘Merch & Spectator Tickets’ (after the relevant dates above).
If you do place a Group Spectator Order, please note the following:
- Provided both your event registration invoice and your group spectator order invoice are paid up in full, Legacy will, by default, post all your wristbands (spectator AND athlete bands) to you for free, around 2 weeks in advance of the event. Postage will be to the address provided via RegChamp when you first registered for the event. You can check what this is on your Invoice via RegChamp.
- If you DO NOT want your wristbands posted, OR YOUR ADDRESS HAS CHANGED you MUST email us ahead of time to notify us.
- Legacy will not be held responsible for packages that are sent to an incorrectly provided address. Wristbands must be treated like cash and lost wristbands will need to be re-purchased (at full price) at Box Office at the event, no exceptions. Please make sure your spectators are aware of their responsibility to keep track of their wristband once it is in their possession.
- Invoices will be issued upon submission of the form, and orders are not complete until payment has been made in full.
- Please be aware: Deadlines for group spectator orders are around 30 days prior to event entry. Please check the Timeline on the Coach Info Page for the event (links in RegChamp) for the exact deadline date. Submissions placed after the deadline will not be valid.
- If you have earned Frequent Flyer Discounts for an order, please email us after you submit the order form to ensure your discount is verified and applied*: [email protected] *Only the face value of the ticket price is discounted. Ticket fees are not discounted by the venue and platform, and they apply per ticket, not per order.
Competition Rules & Information
Information relating to the competition scoring system used at Legacy events, can be found on our Scoring Page.
To help with your planning and choreography, here are details of our competition flooring specifications.
Cheer Floor:
- 9 panels of black foam-backed carpet, on top of a sprung wooden deck.
- Each carpet panel is 6ft wide.
- The total floor dimensions are 54ft wide by 42ft deep.
- The edge of the floor may be surrounded by either angled foam pads creating a soft 'ramp' effect up from the ground (the foam edging is additional to 54x42ft size of the floor) or the floor will have a drop edging to it meaning you have to step up onto it.
- The centre of the floor is the middle of a panel. It will be marked subtly with a small square of black Velcro on the black carpet.
Dance Floor:
- Depending on the event, the dance floor may be placed on top of the sprung wooden deck (as for cheer above), making it a sprung floor, or it may be placed directly on the ground/staging making it a non-sprung floor. This determination is made based on the number of dance entries AND the physical limitations of the time/spaces in which we are working. Please see the Coach Info Page for the Event (links are in RegChamp) for details of what dance floor will be at each event.
- The dance floor is made up of 8 panels of matte black vinyl. Each vinyl panel is 2 metres wide (6.5ft) and approximately 40 feet front to back. The 8 black vinyl panels are taped together with black tape, creating 7 dark lines. Centre of the floor is on a line (though this will be taped over by grey tape - see below).
- In addition, we also tape it with grey tape for the illusion of 10 'panels'. The 9 grey lines are 1.6 metres apart, creating an illusion of 10 1.6m panels. Centre of the floor is on a line. This is to match the sizing of dance floor panels in the USA, for teams who are also competing at overseas events.
- There is a white edging to the floor that sits on top of the black floor. The border takes up approximately 60cm on all 4 edges of the floor and there is no penalty for dancers stepping on this white section.
- Total floor size, including the white border, is 42x54 feet.
- The centre of the floor is on a line (not mid-panel) for both 8 and 10 panel configurations. Floor Centre will not be specifically marked.
If you have any Safeguarding questions, want information about how to respond to concerns you have about a child (either at our events, or generally), or wish to flag a concern, head to our Legacy Safe Page for all the information you need. You may also like to share this page with your athletes and families.
At Legacy Cheer and Dance, we believe your outward behaviour is a direct reflection of your own personal brand. It is what you stand for. It is important to recognise that spectator, athlete, and coach behaviour at an event is also a reflection on your programme’s brand. Therefore, Sportsmanship is an expectation at all Legacy Cheer & Dance events. Coaches, athletes, and parents must conduct themselves in ways that honour the sport, the gym/school/programme, their coach, and themselves.
All Legacy venues are large scale concert or sporting venues which will have security protocol that is taken very seriously for the protection of everyone in attendance. It is an expectation and requirement that all participants, coaches, and spectators are informed of and strictly adhere to all venue policies such as, but not limited to, security protocol, bag policies, pram policies, external food/beverage, etc. Further, it is expected that all participants adhere to said policies without question, and treat all venue, security, medical, vendors, and Legacy staff members in respectful, courteous manner. Mistreatment of any staff member in any way may result in dismissal from the venue with no refunds due. Illegal activity or other chargable offenses can and will be prosecuted at the discretion of Legacy Cheer and Dance, the venue, or other associated staff members.
Participants and patrons must refrain from public negative discussion about individuals or programmes. Remember, what is said in the seats, hallways, public areas and online (anonymously or not) is heard by those you are speaking to AND those who you do not realize can hear you. Someone’s parents, cousins, friends, teammate, or otherwise hear what you are saying, so make it positive and kind…or simply opt to remain quiet out of respect and protection of your own reputation and/or your gym brand.
The coach for each squad is ultimately responsible for their squad members, coaches, parents and other persons affiliated with the programme to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion. It is HIGHLY recommended that coaches regularly train athletes, coaching staff, and parents about event conduct and social media policy/expectations for the gym / school / programme. Social media is permanent even after it is deleted. Legacy Cheer & Dance expects that participating teams and their supporters conduct themselves online with positive social media interaction only.
All participants and coaching staff members must refrain from using inappropriate language or gestures.
Participating programmes must refrain from using music that contains inappropriate language.
Participating programmes must refrain from handing out gym marketing material or recruiting athletes or coaches in any fashion (verbally, in writing, or otherwise) at all Legacy Cheer & Dance events.
NOTE: Legacy Cheer and Dance will not delay an awards session or division in the event of a dispute or complaint arising on sportsmanship topics. We MAY assist in navigating such issues, but please do remember your own roles and responsibilities in making this sport great.
Positive Sportsmanship is a very important aspect of the Legacy Cheer and Dance culture, including athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters. It has a direct impact on the overall competition experience for everyone in attendance as well as the overall public impression of our industry.
Have fun, be cool, and be kind to each other.
Photo and video capture is part of our everyday lives. We believe it is an important part of capturing precious memories with friends and loved ones, including in sport and at Legacy Cheer and Dance events, however, to ensure the safety of the young people present at our events, we do have some restrictions on photography at our events.
The following photo policy is in effect at all Legacy events, at all times.
Legacy Cheer and Dance and it's security teams DO allow for non-commercial pictures and videos only to be taken at Legacy Cheer and Dance events, within the following limitations:
- Per strict venue contracts, standard Child Protection policies, and Legacy Cheer and Dance policies, commercial photography/video of any kind within and outside the designated event space in relation to your own athlete's experience is strictly prohibited.
- Individuals representing themselves or any company may not take photos/videos of athletes for the purposes of selling them during or after an event. Persons and/or companies may not sell or distribute in trade photos that they took at a Legacy Cheer and Dance event either on-site or at any time after the event via social media, emails, or any other format in perpetuity.
- Violating this policy can render penalties including but not limited to removal from the event by security teams without refund or recourse, being banned from future events without recourse, and potential legal action or financial penalties.
Bottom line: Simply taking pictures for your own purposes on your phone and/or sending pictures to your friends from your phone is fine, but photos/videos taken by spectators, athletes, coaches, or anyone at a Legacy Cheer and Dance event may not be sold at any time. Please report violations to [email protected].
At all times, Legacy Cheer and Dance and it's venue team and security teams reserve the right to request inspection of images on any camera for any reason, including for the purposes of discernment and measurement against our Child Protection Policy.
Shall any audience member witness another photographing athletes or anyone in any questionable format that is potentially un-related to normal practices in capturing memories of the day, there is an obligation to report any potential threat to any Legacy Cheer and Dance staff member, a venue security person, and/or the event directors.
Upon inspection of photos in a questionable scenario, if any are deemed inappropriate, outside of the scope of the sport, a threat to health and safety, or a potential violation of the child protection policy at the sole discretion of the Head of Security or the Legacy Cheer and Dance Event Manager, the photos will be immediately deleted.
We reserve the right to simply ask that the camera be put away for the remainder of the event, and we also reserve the right to remove the person from the event entirely, or to call authorities in extreme situations.
TEAM PHOTOGRAPHERS
Team photographers are welcome to capture their team's experience throughout the venue with the following restrictions in place:
- This role does not meet criteria for Media Credentials. Therefore, this person/video team/photo team must attend the event as a spectator if they are not also an athlete. Ticket purchase as normal.
- This role does not meet the criteria to enter warm up areas. You may walk them all the way up to the warm up check in, but cameras in this circumstance are not allowed in warm up.
MEDIA PASS / CREDENTIALS
You may apply for a media pass if you are an accredited journalist/media outlet with official media credentials, or if you are an established official Legacy vlog/social media partner.
- All media outlets/teams must sign a media LOA (letter of agreement) detailing project and parameters.
- Every party will be required to submit current enhanced DBS checks covering the child workforce and photo ID for all people who will attend.
- All media will need to present photo ID on arrival and must work within agreed parameters of the stated project.
All legality queries should be submitted to the IASF (International All-Star Federation) for official rulings. For an official ruling please contact IASF at the appropriate email below:
Dance Queries: [email protected]
Cheer Queries: [email protected]
REMEMBER: Every email should include your Country, Division and a single (x1) clear video of your queried element. The email should be answerable with one word: LEGAL or ILLEGAL.
Coaches wishing to query out-of-division penalties on-site at a Legacy Cheer and Dance event based on an official IASF ruling will be required to provide the video and official ruling at the On Point Scoring (OPS) desk.
Specifically, this is a direct email from [email protected] or [email protected] (not a forwarded email). Remember, official IASF rulings are made based on the skill as performed in your video, and any change in execution later may lead to a different ruling.
Programme Owner’s/Coaches are responsible for verifying the age of all athletes within their Programme. Once verified, it is further their responsibility to ensure the data is entered into the RegChamp system accurately. Typos, error on the part of delegated administrator, or parent dishonesty, are not a valid excuses for inaccurate age data.
In the absence of governing body issued ID cards, Legacy Cheer and Dance reserves the right to ask for proof of age if reasonable doubt or challenge should occur.
Additionally, the Programme Owner/Coach must guarantee that the athletes rostered in the system are the athletes competing on the day. Any deviation from this can be an eligibility violation, even if the rostered athlete was replaced due to injury. The penalty for an eligibility violation and/or failure to provide proof of age for a competitor may be disqualification but will be at the discretion of the Legacy Cheer and Dance Event Directors.
AGE CHALLENGE
If a team wishes to challenge eligibility of another team on the day of an event, the following protocol shall apply:
- The claim must be made directly to a Legacy Cheer & Dance Event Director.
- The team asking for the review will pay a £150 cash only deposit for the review to take place.
- The team in question will be approached by the event director and must show legal proof of age for the athlete(s) in question.
- If the team in question is deemed to be in compliance with age requirements: the full £150 deposit will be given to the Legacy chosen charity, Guide Dogs.
- If the team in question is deemed to have illegal members on the roster: the team making the claim will receive their £150 deposit back in full, and the event producer will disqualify the offending team for that event and/or additional events, depending on the breach. Additionally, any monetary prizes awarded to said team will be forfeited.
If the eligibility age cannot be proven or disproven within 90 minutes, or before the related awards ceremony, whichever is sooner: the full deposit is returned to the claimant and further research will continue after the event. Results may be altered post event, based on findings. Every effort will be made to research in a timely manner, but Legacy Cheer and Dance will not delay an awards ceremony amidst a claim that is not yet fully evaluated fairly for both sides. Awards are announced on the presumption that all teams are eligible, until proven otherwise.
Eligibility challenge requests are limited to ONE challenge per programme per competition season and must address a specific team. Legacy Cheer and Dance will not review multiple teams within a programme or “general claims”. Specific concerns must be cited for reviews to be granted.
Decisions regarding eligibility challenges are to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are at the sole discretion of the Legacy Cheer & Dance Event Director. All decisions are final.
**Note that this policy was last updated 1st October 2024, following notice from SportCheer England on their position in this regard. Legacy will only update/amend this policy upon change of stance from SportCheer England.
Transgender and non-binary athletes may train and compete in the gender category that aligns with their gender identity, providing them with the same opportunities and benefits as other athletes.
This policy remains subject to change, depending on any future direction/ruling from SportCheer UK/England or the ICU or IASF.
All programmes competing at Legacy events must be compliant with music copyright law. Fully licensed music is easily attainable from providers who mix for this industry, and they will provide you with documentation.
We encourage seeking costings from ClicknClear or other providers who may be able to assist you at reasonable prices.
Legacy Cheer and Dance does not have any control over the content of your music, and this responsibility is solely on the Programme and/or persons who have provided the music. Programmes, by way of competing and opting to play their music at a Legacy Cheer and Dance event, are fully releasing any and all liability specific to their own music and it’s rights, or lack thereof.
If you have any questions concerning your music, we suggest consulting a music attorney.
To the fullest extent of the law, registered Programmes and all their affiliates, supporters and competitors, shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless Legacy Cheer and Dance Ltd, its officers, employees, agents, representatives, consultants, and contractors from and against any and all loss, costs, penalties, fines, damages, claims, expenses (including attorney’s fees) or liabilities arising out of, resulting from, or in connection with the services contemplated by the Registration Agreement and written Competition Regulations, including but not limited to a programme’s choice of music.
As of this publication (1 Sept 2025) Legacy is in process of updating our music policies to allow music uploads prior to the event, which will make competition experience easier on the day. We will update this policy in due course, which will be updated here, and we will also email all registered coaches the information needed to use the upload music process.
We cannot play music from a USB stick or CD/DVD.
- All performance music must be provided by a team representative on their own MP3/mobile phone device for use on the event provided sound system.
- Music must be recorded at the correct tempo with a high-quality file. Speed control is not available.
- Music must be cued, ready to play.
- We recommend having the music available on at least TWO devices present at the event.
- iPod/MP3 players/mobile phones/tablets/laptops ONLY! No iPod Shuffles are allowed. No tapes, USB sticks, or CD/DVDs are allowed.
- Devices must to be able to be plugged into a standard headphone jack cable and you must provide your own adapter, if applicable, and it is your responsibility to ensure they are all in working order prior to approaching the sound desk.
- Mobile phones should be switched to ‘flight mode’ or otherwise prevented from causing interruption during music playback. Legacy Cheer and Dance will not allow a team to restart/re-run their routine in the event of music interruption caused by a mobile phone device.
- IF PLAYING MUSIC ON A MP3 DEVICE OR A MOBILE PHONE, PUT PHONE ON AIRPLANE MODE, TURN OFF ALL ALARMS, AND DO NOT HOLD THE DEVICE IN HAND WHILE IT PLAYS. This will prevent the vast majority of music failures mid-routine.
- One (1) representative of your group will be responsible for running the music during the competition. This representative MUST know how to use the device on which the music is stored without assistance.
- The music representativeMUST remain at the sound desk throughout the entire performance. This person will be asked to hold onto their own device until the time of performance and to take device back following the performance. In the event a routine is delayed due to operator error, timing of your routine will continue.
- No additional team members, coaches, parents, etc are allowed at the music desk.
- No food or drink is permitted near the sound desk area.
STOPS DUE TO MUSIC FAILURE
Delay of competition due to music representatives being unprepared or failure of their equipment is not allowed. In the event that a routine fails to start at the appointed time for any reason (i.e. representative cannot find the track or brings the wrong track to the music desk), they will have the option to resolve it within 30 seconds or perform immediately to Legacy Cheer and Dance provided 8-count music, count out loud, or withdraw from the competition without recourse. If 8-count music is selected as the option, it may or may not be an option to select specific BPM on site. We will not delay a competition for you to go find music alternatives.
If a routine is interrupted due to music interruption, for any reason, at any point beyond the first 16 counts of the routine, the routine will not be eligible for a re-performance unless the cause can be determined to be Legacy Cheer and Dance equipment failure. In the event of a music malfunction within the first 16 counts of the routine, the coach/music desk representative must call a stop to the routine and request a re-start immediately. Routine re-runs will not be allowed where the coach/music desk representative does not notify within this window.
Final decisions relating to routine interruption are at the discretion of a Legacy Cheer & Dance Event Director.
STOPS DUE TO INJURY / ILLNESS
Routine stops may only take place for injury in which an athlete cannot safely continue. See criteria below for specifics on the parameters for routine interruption. Any routine interrupted for reasons not related to actual injury may not be eligible to re-perform, at the sole discretion of the Event Director, Arena Manager or Head Judge.
The only individuals that may stop a routine for injury are:
- Competition Officials (Event Director, Arena Director, Head Judge)
- Gym Owner/Coach from the team performing
- Injured Individual
- USASF/IASF Certified Safety Judge.
An injured athlete may create a potential safety hazard because of the inability to hold, support, spot or catch; or they may be at risk of being landed on or tripping over other athletes. For the safety of all athletes competing, a routine may be interrupted if:
- An athlete is clearly injured.
- An athlete is questionably injured and does not resume their role in the routine within 5 seconds of questionable injury.
- An athlete leaves the competition floor due to an injury.
- Bio spill (vomit, blood)
In the event that a routine is interrupted due to injury, it will be at the Competition Officials’ discretion whether or not that team will be allowed to perform again at a later time.
Athlete Returning to Competition
Decisions on whether an athlete can return to the performance floor after a routine interruption will be made promptly after the routine stop. In most cases, the athlete will not be able to return to the floor, including cases where the criteria for stopping a routine does not fall within the parameters of athlete injury. Other criteria apply, see below.
In the event of any of the following injuries during performance, the participant may not return to the competition for the remainder of the day, including any additionally planned routines (crossovers):
- A suspected or confirmed head, neck, or back injury.
- Partial or complete loss of consciousness (fainting, near-fainting, visible disorientation).
- Fit (seizure) for any reason.
- Suspected or confirmed broken bone or severe sprain.
- Severe illness (i.e.- vomit, disorientation, collapse, etc.
- Any other injury that can worsen or create safety hazard for others if they perform again.
- Any pre-existing injury in which the athlete, coach, medical team, competition director, or safety official deems significant enough to prevent further performance.
- Any injury in which there is not proper time to determine the actual cause or nature of the injury before the time the team is scheduled to perform again.
If the above criteria do not apply, an injured athlete MAY be eligible to be considered for returning to the floor, as assessed on a case-by-case basis. Assessment will be made in collaboration with all of the parties listed below:
- Event Medical Personnel attending to that participant
- Parent/Guardian (if possible)
- Head Coach/Gym Owner of competing team
- Event Director, Arena Manager, Warm Up Room Manager and/or Head Judge.
TEAM RE-PERFORMANCE
In the event that a team is allowed to perform again following a routine interruption, the new performance time will be set and is determined at the sole discretion of the Competition Officials. Re-schedules will be done as swiftly as possible and may not have a full cycle to re-warmup.
The team must (pending any injury’s impact on the routine) perform the routine again 'full-out' and in its entirety, but judging will resume from the point at which the interruption occurred, as determined by the judges. All skills must be performed (not 'marked') from the beginning of the routine. All point deductions accumulated to that point (if any) will carry over.
If a team is permitted to perform again but fails to perform the routine in its entirety (example: throwing back tucks instead of the full twist thrown in the original performance), it is at the discretion of the Competition Officials how that team’s scores will be affected.
There are many reasons why a team's performance time may need to be re-scheduled. Legacy will try to accomodate requests for re-schedules to the best of our ability, but given the fast-paced nature of events and the domino effect of any alterations to the schedule, amendments to any teams performance time from what is published in the most up-to-date version of the schedule, for any reason, cannot be guaranteed.
In particular, if the only available re-schedule slots would require us to move division awards to later award ceremonies, affecting many athletes and families travel plans, we are very unlikely to allow a reschedule. In these circumstances, we can instead offer an opportunity to perform in a later slot as an ‘Exhibition’ performance, with a full scoresheet and participation banner (in a later awards), but no ranking.
Re-schedules are more likely to be accomodated, if possible, for reasons such as (this list is not exhaustive):
- Significant athlete injury during warm up.
- Unexpected travel related issues affecting a significant portion of a team.
Re-schedules are less likely to be accomodated for reasons such as (this list is not exhaustive):
- Athlete anxiety or nerves ahead of performance.
- Minor athlete injuries, or issues resulting from pre-existing injuries prior to the event weekend.
- Individual athletes running late or 'stuck in traffic'.
In the 2026 season Legacy will be running fully virtual divisions for stunt group and partner stunt divisions only, at all events.
